My Pregnancy/Postpartum Skincare Routine

Hi, mamas!

While pregnant, I often was asked what I was using on my belly to keep the stretch marks away. I know they say that ‘stretch marks are hereditary,’ however, by staying hydrated + applying the right products, you can help your skin SO much throughout your pregnancy. Elasticity is key!

When I first found out I was pregnant, I immediately googled the best products for stretch marks. I went to the store + bought as many as I could get my hands on + tried them all out early on. While I’m sure many of them do help, there were things I didn’t like about them. Some were too oily, too smelly, or too thick that made me feel like I had to shower all the time. After doing some research + reading great reviews, I finally got my hands on a belly cream that I instantly fell in love with. It wasn’t thick, it smelled good, + my skin felt great! Mama Mio’s ‘Tummy Rub Butter’ was ‘the one!’ I stuck with the Mama Mio stretch mark line my entire pregnancy! I feel that when I can use products from the same line, they work a lot better when used together. Stretch marks are hereditary in my family + let me tell you, I did not get any stretch marks on my belly. I really do believe that their products along with drinking lot’s of water helped my skin.

Now, because I am a first-time mom, I thought the only area I had to keep moisturized was my belly + because of this, I ended up getting stretch marks on my waist, boobs, and thighs. Also, I had no idea that you could get stretch marks postpartum, who knew? So, first-time mama’s, be sure to keep those areas moisturized throughout your pregnancy as well as after you deliver. Thank goodness Mama Mio products are encouraged to be used 4-6 months postpartum to help with skin elasticity. They’ve been a huge help so far helping keep my skin hydrated while treating the appearance of stretch marks I did get.

Here is my pregnancy/postpartum skincare routine:

  1. In the shower, I use ‘The Tummy Rub Scrub’ to exfoliate my skin. This is a gentle dual action enzyme exfoliator that is a key step to help perfectly prep your skin for the cream + oil. This scrub is made with organic shea butter, papaya + pineapple enzymes that are 100% safe for your delicate pregnant skin.
  2. I follow this scrub with the ‘Tummy Rub Oil’ that is an omega-rich elasticizing oil. I absolutely love this oil because it penetrates fast into your skin not leaving that oily feeling behind. It also helps reduce the appearance of any stretch marks you may have.
  3. After, I apply a good amount of ‘The Tummy Rub Butter’ all over my belly, waist, + thighs! I love how it leaves my skin feeling moisturized + healthy. This cream also smells amazing, so I’m glad I get to use it postpartum! (This cream is Mama Mio’s Bestseller.)
  4. Lastly, I apply Mama Mio’s ‘Goodbye Stretch Marks’ cream on stretch marks that have more color to them–on my waist.

I hope this post is helpful to many of you mamas and/or mamas-to-be. I truly love these products + know you will, too! Let me know if you have any questions + I’ll gladly answer them. šŸ™‚
